Mission Statement

Financial literacy, financial empowerment and financial progress do not need to come at the cost of causes that are important to you.

Ilma means knowledge in Arabic. Ilma Invest’s goal is to shed light on what companies are about, and end the decision paralysis consumers of conscience face in figuring out what ETFs and stocks to invest in, and how well their own portfolios, 401Ks, and pensions align with their values.

About

Meet the Founder

I'm Rania, a Palestinian American in diaspora who was born and raised in Jersey City in the 90’s. My family immigrated from Nablus to NJ in the late '80s. I've always cared about social justice and equity, and I built this company so investors can see whether the companies align with the values they hold dear, not just whether they say they do in press releases.

Our patent-pending approach weighs what companies claim against evidence from public filings and independent sources. I bring over ten years in data science, analytics, and data quality across finance, fintech, and retail, including regulatory work at Deutsche Bank and Barclays and leading business intelligence at Verisk. I hold a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University and an Executive MBA from Brown University and IE University.
